Abstract: A GTAW flux used for austenite stainless steel welding is developed. The welding process is conducted. The results indicate that the 304 stainless steel butt plate of thickness of 8mm can be perfectly welded in one pass. A welded joint with excellent mechanical and anti intergranular corrosion properties is realized, and the penetration depth by using GTAW flux has been increased.
