Abstract:
Influence of nucleation agent F
- on the crystallization of CaO-Al
2O
3-SiO
2 glass was studied by using DTA, XRD and SEM. The results indicate that CaF
2 can effectively prompt full crystallization. By means of suitable heat treatment, a white glass-ceramics can be obtained with the crystal grain size of 0.1~0.2
μm. The major crystalline phases of the glass-ceramics are diopside (CaMg(SiO
3)
2) and wollastonite (
β-CaSiO
3). With the increase of CaF
2 content, diopside increases and wollastonite decreases.
