Abstract:
Cathodic protection, in combination with coating, is an effective method to prevent metallic structures immersed in seawater from corrosion. For the corrosion prevention of marine ships, the impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) system is preferred due to its advantages. The impressed current anode is one of the key components in ICCP system. In this paper, the research and engineering experiences on ICCP anode components for marine ships were introduced, and the properties and characteristics of lead silver alloy anodes, platinized anodes and mixed metal oxide coated titanium anodes were discussed.
