Abstract:
The characteristics of dry sliding friction of high chromium white cast iron with quenching 40Cr steel were studied. A series of high chromium white cast iron with two kinds of carbide and three kinds of matrix structure were tested. The results indicate that (Fe,Cr)
7C
3 is more helpful to rising wear resistance of high chromium white cast iron and lowering friction factor than (Fe,Cr)
23C
6. Under high contact stress condition, the alloy with eutectoid matrix gives higher friction factor and has better wear resistance than that with martensite and austenite matrix.
