Abstract: The application of polyimide foam materials in ships abroad is reviewed in this paper. A comparison is made between polyimide foam,bimaleimide foam and modified phenolplast foam on their suitability as thermal insulation and sound insutation marine materials.The necessity and feasibility to develop marine polyimide foam in our country are analysed.
