Abstract: Several synthetic methods and some influence parameters are discussed for the production of BaTiO₃ nanometer powder．The advantage and shortcoming of the above methods are compared．The BaTiO₃ particles obtained by the sol-gel method exhibits fine particle size and narrow size distribution,and it could be concluded that this approach will have a promised prospect in future industrial application．
