Abstract: Several kinds of cathode materials for lithium-ion battery such as intercalated lithium ion layered Li_xMO₂and spinal Li_xM₂O₄(M=Co,Ni,Mn,etc)are reviewed in this paper.The properties,synthesis process,structures and modification methods of lithium cobalt oxide,lithium nickel oxide and lithium manganese oxide are emphatically introduced and the progress of some new cathode materials including nano-scale material are also covered.
