Abstract: A new kind of cathode material LiNi_0.8Co_0.2O₂for lithium ion rechargeable battery has been prepared by high temperature solid sintering and the influence of the relative technological parameter on the performance of the material is investigated. Through controlling the parameter, a high performance LiNi_0.8Co_0.2O₂with loose density over 2.0g/cm³and first discharge electricity capacity larger than 160mAh/g is obtained.
