Effects of Al2O3-doping on Microstructure and Performance of ZrO2 Ceramics

  • 摘要: 在m-ZrO2中添加不同摩尔质量分数的亚微米Al2O3,真空热压烧结成复合陶瓷。通过X-射线衍射和扫描电镜以及能谱对复合陶瓷进行表征,并对材料的密度及力学性能进行了检测和分析。实验结果表明:Al2O3的加入提高了烧结密度,强化了材料的晶界,部分Al2O3颗粒嵌入到ZrO2基体晶粒内,形成“晶内型”结构;复合材料中存在多种增韧机制。相对于无掺杂的ZrO2,添加Al2O3后的材料硬度,抗弯强度和断裂韧性都有所提高。
    Abstract: Sub-micron Al2O3 was added into CeO2-ZrO2 to form precursors powder which was hot press-sintered in vacuum atmosphere to form composite ceramics.The crystalline phase and structure of sintered ceramics were characterized with X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy.The density and mechanical properties were also tested.The experimental results indicated that the Al2O3 enhanced the density,strengthened the material grains boundary,and part of Al2O3 has merged to the matrix particle,formed the transgranular structure.Compared to non-doped ZrO2,the hardness,bending strength and the fracture toughness of the Al2O3 doped ceramics were improved.
