Abstract: The principles,development and application of various intergranular corrosion tests for stainless steels were reviewed.The relative merits of these tests are compared.Chemical etching test is time consuming and destructive,but easy to master and standardized.Electrochemical test is fast,nondestructive and suited for pop-testing.Therefore,it is important to select suitable testing methods.
