Abstract: The factors of effect on restriking and restriking mechanism of J422 electrode are investigated in this paper.The results indicate that the restriking property of the electrode depends on the content of active TiO₂ and is impacted by CaCO₃,the electric conduction in the restriking is attributed to the metastable intermediates in the slags which exist in electrode coating muff and some free electrons produced.
