Abstract:
Copper plate heat exchanger (CPHE) is a kind of novel material for heat exchange and saving energy, which can be widely utilized in the field of marine aquaculture, ship, geothermal, power and chemical industry. In order to understand the potential effect of solid particulate matter in marine aquaculture water on the corrosion of CPHE, the content and size distribution of solid particulate matter in water are investigated in the paper.Result indicates that the contents of solid particulate matter in natural water, water through sand filter tower, pool water for sea cucumber are in the range of 1.3
2.7 mg/L, 0.04
0.4 mg/L, and 0.02
0.26 mg/L respectively. The solid matter in natural water is of an unregular particulate shape;the pool water a sheet-like characteristic;and the water through sand filter tower unclearly particulate feature. The size of most solid particles in seawater is in the range of 1
5 μm, which are formed by nano-sized particles.Due to the much lower particulate content, seawater velocity and their resulting lower erosion force, it can be concluded that the effect of the solid particulate matter on the corrosion of CPHE is very slight. The simulation erosion test and the practical investigation of CPHE support the conclusion. The result will be helpful to promote the CPHE application and spread in the marine aquaculture field.
