Abstract: Starch adhesive has a long application history,but pure starch adhesive has some shortcomings such as low bond strength,poor water-resistance and slow drying rate.As a natural macromolecule,modified starch has become a research focus in recent years.Recent research progresses in modification of starch-based adhesives were reviewed from the aspects of oxidation,esterification,etherification,crosslinking,and graft copolymerization,and the development trend was pointed out.
