Abstract: CdS nanocrystal coated multiwalled carbon nanotubes(MWNTs)were prepared by solvothermal method in EDA-water medium with Cd(NO₃)₂·4H₂O as Cd precursor and H₂NCSNH₂ as sulfur source,and Ag₂S nanoparticle coated MWNTs were prepared at room-temperature in water medium with AgNO₃ as Ag precursor and Na₂S·9H₂O as sulfur source and SDS as a surfactant.The nano structure of hybrid CdS/MWNTs and Ag₂S/MWNTs was characterized by means of transmission electron microscopy(TEM),X-ray powder diffraction(XRD).The results indicate that CdS nanocrystal and Ag₂S nanoparticles have been successfully in-situ encapsulated onto the surface of MWNTs.
