Abstract: Though polyester possesses the advantages of the favorable physical properties,rub resistance,high insulating,high impact strength,good dimension stability,low hygroscopicity,favorable electrical properties and solvent-resistance,it still has some shortcomings in flammability and oxygen index like other polymers.subjected of phosphorus-containing flame retardant.preduces small molecule substance at the high-temperature containing P=O、P-O and P-H which is fire retardative by volatilizing to the gas-phase.The species of the environmental friendly flame-retardant polyester and the flame retardant mechanism of the environmental friendly flame-retardant polyester are reviewed in this article.
