Abstract: The evolution and characteristic of the United states specifications for ship plate are analyzed from the chemical composition, mechanical performance, inspection and acceptance points of view.It is pointed out that new specifications are more scientific and rational besides, higher performance requirements, providing a more reliable guarantee for the safety of ship equipments.
