Abstract: Magnetic fluid is a kind of liquid with broad functional application prospects.In this paper,the main synthesis method of the magnetic fluid is described,the main parameters to characterize its performance are discussed,and the application of magnetic fluid in engineering,biomedicine,material sorting and the environmental protection are introduced.Then the future research and development of the magnetic fluid are forecast.
