Abstract: The electron beam cold hearth melting process has emerged as a new melting technology.It is used to produce premium quality titanium alloys for critical parts of the aero-engine and to recycle the titanium scraps successfully.The development of electron beam cold hearth melting for TC4 alloy is reviewed in the paper.
