Abstract: The electromagnetic field is presented and its application in materials and processing is reviewed in induction heating, electromagnetic stirring, electromagnetic separation, electromagnetic cold crucible induction melting, electromagnetic levitation melting and near net forming technology. The prospect of electromagnetic processing technology in the future is forecast at the end of this paper.
