Abstract: Because of the low modulus and strength along Z direction of traditional foam core sandwich structures, a variety of different parameters of structures of web-core reinforced sandwich composite plates were processed by VARI technology. According to the results of experiments, it was found that web-core reinforced sandwich structures can improve the basic mechanical properties notablely. The basic mechanical properties of these sandwich structures including compression and bending test were studied. Its failure mode that different from traditional sandwich structure were also revealed.
