Abstract: Martensite start temperature(M_S) for steel is very important for analysis of martensite transformation process,guidance of alloy design,establishment of heat treatment process and welding process. This article introduced the methods of predicting M_S,which can be divided into empirical regression model,thermodynamic model and neural network model. Research progress,advantage and disadvantage of the three models were also discussed in detail.
