Study on Microstructures and Properties of FSW Welded Joint of 5A01 Aluminium Alloy Plate

  • 摘要: 采用搅拌摩擦焊方法对厚度为30 mm的5A01铝合金进行了单面对接焊,分析了焊缝的金相组织及力学性能。结果表明,5A01铝合金厚板的搅拌摩擦焊接成形良好;焊缝接头从组织上可分为焊核区、热机影响区和热影响区;根据受到热量影响程度的不同,焊核区可分为上部焊核和下部焊核,焊核区出现了“洋葱环”结构,可能与搅拌针表面加工的三个平面有关;热机影响区沿厚度方向受到不同程度的热机械和热循环作用,因此其上部、中部和下部表现出了不同的组织特点;焊接接头具有较好的力学性能,抗拉强度达到了母材的90%以上,拉伸断裂位置位于焊缝区。
    Abstract: The single-side welding process of friction stir welding(FSW) was used on 30 mm-thick plate of 5A01 aluminium alloy. Microstructures and mechanical properties of welded joint were investigated. The results show that appearance of the welded joint is in good shape; the welded joint can be divided into three regions by microstructures: weld nugget zone, thermo-mechanically affected zone and heat-affected zone; the weld nugget zone consists of top weld nugget and bottom weld nugget, which are differently affected by heat; the forming of the “onion ring” structure which appears at weld nugget zone is considered to be related to the three machining planes of stirring pin; the thermo-mechanically affected zone is affected by various degrees of thermal mechanical action and thermal cycling along the thickness direction, so its top, middle and bottom regions present different organizational characteristics; the mechanical properties of welded joint are good: the tensile strength of welded joint is more than 90% of that of the base metal and the tensile fracture occurs in the welded joint.
