Abstract:
Epoxy-modified polysiloxane not only has all excellent properties of the ordinary polysiloxane,but also has high adhesion strength,low shrinkage and excellent processing performance owing to the characteristics of epoxy groups. In addition,with the help of the various epoxy curing agents,epoxy-modified polysiloxane could greatly enrich its curing ways and expand its scope of application. Here introduced are five methods of the synthesis of epoxy-modified polysiloxanes,including hydrosilylation,ring-opening polymerization,epoxy ring-opening reaction,double bond oxidation ring formation and polycondensation. The characteristics and the latest research results of these methods are summarized,and the future development of epoxy-modified polysiloxanes are prospected.
