Abstract:
The properties of different kinds of hydrocarbon resins were studied by DSC, water absorption and EIS, and the hydrocarbon resin suitable for high solid epoxy coatings was determined. The anticorrosive properties of coatings with different amount of hydrocarbon resins were studied by SEM, DSC, EIS and salt spray, and the optimum amount of hydrocarbon resin was determined. The re-coating ability of high solid epoxy coatings was studied by adhesion of coatings. The results showed that when the content of C9/C10 unsaturated long-chain alcoholether hydrocarbon resin with hydroxyl content of 1.7%~2.2% and viscosity of 300~400 cp was 16%, the shielding property, the anticorrosive property of coating and the re-coating ability were outstanding.
