Abstract:
The low-carbon and corrosion-resistant micro-alloying design methods combined with TMCP technologies were adopted to industrially trial-produce the corrosion-resistant E36 steel plate with two specifications of 6 mm and 30 mm. The results indicated that the industrial trial-produced steel plates had uniform structures and were of good metallurgical quality. Furthermore, the final trial-produced corrosion-resistant E36 steel plate not only met the chemical and mechanical properties required by E36 steel standard, but also its corrosion rate in the acidic chloride ion environment was reduced to about 0.62 mm/a, about 40% lower than 1 mm/a regulated by
Corrosion Resistant Steel for Oil Tanks proposed by International Maritime Organization, and its corrosion resistance property was about 5 times of that of the traditional E36 steel.
