Abstract: Aniticorrosive coating and cathodic protection are effective methods for the corrosion control of subsea equipment and facilities in seawater. The investigations on protective coatings and cathodic protection used in deep-sea environment are of great significance for the guarantee of reliability and safety of subsea equipment and facilities, and the development of deep-sea equipment technology. In this article, the research status of deep-sea anticorrosive coating and cathodic protection has been introduced, the influences of deep-sea environment on the performance of organic and inorganic coatings and sacrificial anodes have been analyzed, the application of deep-sea anticorrosive coating and cathodic protection to the specific equipment and facilities has been discussed. The existing problems and challenges are pointed out, and the development directions of deep-sea anticorrosive coating and cathodic protection technology have been prospected.
