Abstract:
The efficiency of metallographic test of large-sized sample is low, and the rapid on-site test cannot be achieved. To solve the above questions, the portable electrolysis device is adopted to locate positions in the large-sized sample to prepare test samples. The surface profiles and metallographic structures of 45# steel and TC4 alloy are observed and analyzed through laser scanning confocal microscope and metallographic microscope, and the effects of electrolytic current on the sampling of different materials are examined. Results show that the electrolytic current ranges suitable for 45# steel and TC4 alloy are 0.7-1.5 A and 1.0-1.5 A, respectively. The applications of electrolytic method in the microstructure heterogeneity analysis, defect type determination with low magnification, and rapid on-site metallography detection of large-sized sample are introduced, and the applicability of sampling by electrolytic method is discussed.
