Abstract: The recent research progress of marine antifouling biocides was reviewed, the characteristics of major commercial antifouling biocides were briefly introduced and the research progress of novel environmental friendly antifouling biocides were introduced emphatically, including the natural product-based antifouling biocides, enzyme-based antifouling biocides, nano antifouling biocides and silicate antifouling biocides. Finally, the research and development trend of marine antifouling biocides were forecasted.
