Abstract: The preparation of multi-phase and multi-scale aluminum based composites and the design ideas of its configuration compounding were briefly summarized from the aspect of configuration strengthening and toughening. The latest research results of improving the matching between strength and toughness of aluminum based composites by configuration compounding in recent years were listed. The way of industrialization of aluminum based composites with advanced configuration was prospected.
