Abstract:
The effect of the hollow glass bubbles(HGB) on the mechanical properties of the damping solid buoyant material was summarized and analyzed through a series of experiments such as the volume fraction of the hollow glass bubbles, the particle size of the bubbles, and the modification of the coupling agent. The results showed that with the increase of the volume fraction of hollow glass bubbles, the water absorption of solid buoyant materials gradually increased and that the density, compressive strength and damping loss factor gradually decreased. With the increase of the particle size of hollow glass bubbles, the water absorption and damping loss factor of the solid buoyancy material gradually increased, while the density and compressive strength gradually decreased. The addition of coupling agent could effectively improve the interface bonding of hollow glass beads and epoxy resin, and improve the performance of solid buoyancy materials.
