Effect of SiC Surface-metalization and Combined Surfactant on the Properties of Ni-P/SiC Composite Electroless Plating

  • Surfaces of SiC particles are metalized and an ionic and nonionic combined surfactant is employed in the electroless solution to obtain Ni P/SiC composite plating by the method of electroless deposit. The micro hardness, porosity and capability of the plating against corrosive wear in high temperature are investigated. The results show that with the metalized SiC particles and the combined surfactant, the micro hardness and the porosity of the plating increases and decreases separately, and the capability of the plating against corrosive wear is improved.
