Abstract
The aging precipitation behaviors of 6066 alloys prepared separately by spray deposition and ingot metallurgy are investigated in comparison through Brinell hardness test, OM and TEM examination and X-ray diffraction. The results manifested that the peak-aging process of the spray deposition 6066 Al alloy is shorter and the aging response is accelerated. It can be concluded that the rapid solidification result in the microstructure refining and the solute atoms concentrated and the dislocation densified leading the accelerated aging precipitation of second phase in the deposited alloy.
