Properties of Al2O3/Cu Composites for Fabrication of Spot-welding Electrode

  • A novel Al2O3/Cu composite is prepared by internal oxidation method to replace the traditional spot-welding electrode material of copper alloy whose softening temperature is low. The properties and micro-structure of the composite are investigated. The result manifests that the electric conductivity of the composite reaches 86.49%IACS and the softening temperature is up to 930℃, indicating the composite is suitable for spot-welding electrode.
