Tribological Performance of Nanon and Micron Fe2O3 Filled UHMWPE Composites

  • The friction and wear properties of nanon Fe2O3 filled UHMWPE composite are investigated and a comparison of tribological performance is made between nanon Fe2O3 filled UHMWPE composite and micron Fe2O3 filled UHMWPE on friction testing machine. The results manifest that nanon Fe2O3 could greatly reduce the wear of UHMWPE composites and the anti-wear property is better than that of micron Fe2O3 filled UHMWPE. The wear mechanics of nanon and micron Fe2O3 UHMWPE composites are analyzed.
