Influence of Graphite Adding to the Solution of Sodium Hydroxide on the Growth and Wear Resistance of the Coatings Formed by Microarc Oxidation on Aluminum Alloys

  • The LY12 aluminum alloy was treated in sodium hydroxide solution after adding graphite powder. The influence of the graphite content in the solution on the growth principle and the phase composition of the coating was investigated. The wear resistance of the coatings and the counter was also studied. The results showed that a certain amount of graphite becomed the part of the coatings after oxidation, and this greatly reduced the weight loss of the coatings and the counter.
