Abstract
C8F17SO2N(C2H5)C2H4(OC2H4)nOH surfactant is obtained from perfluorooctanesulfonyl fluoride through three-step reactions of amidation with ethylamine in the presence of isopropyl ether, reaction with 2-chlorohydrin, and then reaction with ethylene oxide in high temperature and high pressure. The surface-active property of the surfactant is investigated and the surface tension could reach below 19.2mN/m in 0.05%(wt) solution. IR,NMR,DSC and TG are employed to characterize the surfactant in this paper.
