Effects of Sintering Temperature on Antibacterial Performance of Ag-carried by Porous SiO2

  • Adopted porous silica as a carrier and fixed Ag+in its pores by means of absorbing and sintering techniques,an Ag-carried inorganic antibacterial agent was prepared. The antibacterial and enduring antibacterial performance of the agent sintered at 200℃,400℃,600℃and 800℃ were investigated quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed that the antibacterial agent sintered at 400℃ exhibited good antibacterial and enduring performance, which meet with the demands of Japanese industry criterion. This was mainly due to the agent's pore structure which was responsible for effective releasing silver ions.
