Influence of Ni on the Microstructure and Wear Resistant Properties of Reactive High Velocity Oxy-fuel Flame Spraying TiC/Ni Coatings

  • The influence of Ni on the microstructure and wear resistant properties of HVOF TiC-Ni cermets coatings with three different Ni content was investigated.The result showed that in spraying process Ni can absorb react heat and slow down oxidation of the powder.Ni content of granulated powder has great effect on the properties of resistance to wear and phase composition of the coatings.When Ni content is low,many oxides appear in the coating,the microstructure of the coating is loose and the resistance to slide wear is poor,whereas the oxide content decrease and the resistence to slide wear is enhanced with the Ni content increasing.When Ni content is over,the amount of lamellar Ni increase,the interval of rigid phases is enlarged and the resistance to wear trends towards decrease.
