Micro-arc Oxidation on Surface of Marine Titanium Alloy

  • Titanium dioxide films on Ti-75 alloy were prepared by means of micro-arc oxidation.The effect of different phosphate electrolyte concentration on the microstructure and microhardness was studied.The results show that the Ti-75 dioxide film has uniform and compact macro surface and porous micro structure,and the content of electrolyte is found in the film.The film has sufficient thickness with insulation resistance and hardness obviously higher than that of base metal indicating that micro-arc oxidation is a good surface treatment method to improve insulating and wear property of marine Ti-75 alloy.
