Control of the Crystal Phase of TiO₂ Nanoparticles with PO₄^3-

Series of PO₄^3- doped nanosized TiO₂ powers were prepared with TiCl₄ as precursor by using hydrothermal method and characterized by means of XRD,TG,BET and SEM.By adjusting quantity of phosphate,the crystalline structure of TiO₂ can be controlled from pure rutile to the mix-crystal(rutile and anatase) and to pure anatase.The photocatalytic activity of the PO₄^3- doped TiO₂ was characterized by photodegradation of rhodamine B and it is indicated that the photocatalytic activity of the mix-crystal is effectively improved with doped PO₄^3-.
