Study on Preparation and Properties of Zirconia Foam Ceramic

Porous ceramic was prepared from TZP fine powder which is stabilized by ceria and yttria composite dopant with organic foam as precursor.Influence of the property of precursor,slurry coating technique,composition of slurry and sintering temperature on mechanic properties and microstructure of foam ceramic were discussed.High grade foam ceramic were acquired when content of Al₂O₃ in slurry is 5%,coating amount is 0.7g/cm³,sintered at 1580℃ and the organic precursor is elastic,strong skeleton and absorbent of slurry.
