Ultrasonic Attenuation Mechanism of Titanium Bronze

  • Ultrasonic test was carried out on titanium bronze according to the standard on CuCo2BeZr alloy of the same grain size and inspection parameters.Poor waveform and serious attenuation are found.Resultsof internal friction experiment show that internal friction of titanium bronze is far larger than that of CuCo2BeZr alloy which causes the poor waveform.Twins,acicular and rod precipitates are contributing factors to the internal friction.Quantitative parameter of ultrasonic test on CuCo2BeZr alloy need to be modified in order to carry out the ultrasonic test on titanium bronze more accurately by increasing the compensation amount and building a new standard.
