Research on Stress Corrosion Cracking and Exfoliation Corrosion Resistance of 5083 Alloy Integral Panel

  • Integral panel of aluminum has been applied widely on shipbuilding abroad for its excellence of light weight and high size precision.The corrosion resistance of aluminum alloy 5083 integral panel was studied by means of stress corrosion cracking and exfoliation corrosion test of Al-Mg alloys in GJB1742-1993.The results showed that aluminum alloy 5083 has excellent corrosion cracking and exfoliation corrosion resistance.Since coarse phase β precipitated in grain boundaries was broken during extrusion process and the fine β phase distributing discontinuously, the corrosion resistance of the integral panel of aluminum was highly improved.
