Cold Crack Property Analysis of Steel WEL-TEN 62CF

  • Cold cracking tendency was investigated of WEL-TEN 62CF steel joint welded by manual metal arc welding with L-62CF electrode covering Pcm calculation, HAZ maximum hardness probing, slit type cracking test and cruciform cracking test.It is proved that the steel has small cold cracking tendency even in normal temperature and the maximum hardness of weld joint and the cracking tendency could be moderated if preheating treatment is conducted before welding.
