Failure Analysis on Conductive Roller of 1550 Galvanizing unit in Baosteel

The cylinder of conductive roller of 1550 galvanizing unit in Baosteel was made of Hastelloy.The main problem of the conductive roller is that the welding joint of the Hastelloy cylinder be corroded and cracked in long term service.A damaged conductive roller which cylinder was welded with filler-wire TIG welding is analyzed in this paper,and the cause of stress corrosion cracking and failure are revealed,which provides the theoretical evidence for corresponding improvements and enhancing the corrosion resistance of the welding joint of the conductive roller.
