Preparation of Al₂O₃ Ceramic fiber Cloth by Solution Dipping Process

Al₂O₃ ceramic fiber cloth was prepared by solution dipping process with cotton cloth and viscose fiber cloth as precursors.The effects of sintering temperature on the microstructure and phase of the sintered Al₂O₃ ceramic fiber cloth were studied by means of SEM and XRD.The results showed that Al₂O₃ ceramic fiber cloth could be obtained with cotton cloth and viscose fiber cloth as precursors,whose fiber texture remained the same structure as the precursors.As the sintering temperature increased,the microstructure of Al₂O₃ ceramic fiber cloth was even more densification and the extent of fiber fracture was reduced.Optimum sintering temperature was between 900¹000℃.
