Synthesis and Study of Corrosion Inhibition Performance of Water-soluble Sodium Salicylaldehyde-5-Sulphonate Formyl Pyridine Hydrazone Schiff-base

  • Sodium salicylaldehyde-5-sulphonate and the water-soluble schiff base sodium salicylaldehyde-5-sulphonate formyl pyridine hydrazone(H2B,H3B,H4B) have been synthesized.Weight loss measurement,potentiodynamic polarization curves,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy were used to evaluate the corrosion inhibition performance of these compounds as corrosion inhibitors for Q235 steel in1mol/L HCl.The results indicate that the inhibition efficiency of H4B can reach to 91.10% for the Q235 steel in 1mol/L HCl when its concentration is 75mg/L.SEM images show that the complete adsorption films form on the surface of the Q235 steel.
