Preparation of Monodisperse Spherical Cu₂O Powder with Cu（OH）₂ as Precursor

Monodisperse spherical Cu₂O powder of about 0.9~2.0μm in diameter has been prepared by glucose reduction of Cu(OH)₂ precursor without any additives in high reaction concentration and alkaline system.The effects of reaction temperature and concentration of NaOH,glucose and CuSO₄ on the morohology and particle size of Cu₂O powder were investigated.Scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction were used to characterize Cu₂O powder.Meanwhile,according to the theory of crystal nucleation and growth,the effects of above factors on the morohology and particle size of Cu₂O powder were discussed.
