Decomption Synthesis of CuS and Cu2O Nanomaterials in the Presence of PEG400

  • In the paper, CuS and Cu2O nanomaterials were synthesized by a simple decomption reaction in the presence of PEG400.The CuS nanoparticles are about 11~20 nm in diameter and the Cu2O nanocubes are 300~800nm in side length.The products were characterized by X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM).The UV-vis spectra of the CuS nanoparticles and the Cu2O nanocubes exhibit the abvious absorption peaks at 430 and 400nm respectively, and show the distinct blue shift with compared to them of the bluks.The formation mechanism of the CuS nanoparticles and the Cu2O nanocubes is also discussed in brief.
