Synthesis and Properties of a Noval Waterborne Epoxy Resin System

In this paper,aqueous curing agents for epoxy resin systems are synthesized by carboxy-ethylatin of epoxy-amine adducts and epoxide terminated poly(ethylene oxide)(ETPEO) is obtained by reaction of poly(ethylene oxide) glycol with succinic acid firstly and then with epoxy resin.Emulsions of epoxy resins prepared with the ETPEO as emulsifiers are cured with the new aqueous curing agents and the properties of cured resins are studied.
